AFK Journey How to Get Hero Essence

Hero Essence is one of the resources in AFK Journey that you use to level your heroes and progress your account.

In the beginning, you will have a ton of Hero Essence and will actually be strapped for XP to level your heroes.

However, the further you get into the game you will notice that you start getting Hero Essence less and less and you will eventually reach a point where you won't have enough to progress.

In this guide, we'll show you some of the best ways to get Hero Essence so that you can pass your bottlenecks and continue playing AFK Journey.

How to Get Hero Essence

There are various ways to get Hero Essence and with any of the other 2 resources that are Gold and XP you will mostly be getting Hero Essence from AFK rewards, however, there are some other ways that you can get it faster so that you can speed up your progression.

AFK Stages

In the early game, the fastest and best way to get more Hero Essence is by pushing and completing AFK Stages.

When you complete AFK Stages in AFK Journey you get rewards on certain milestones. One of those rewards is 180 Hero Essence.

In the early game when you're pushing AFK Stages you will often get a ton of Hero Essence rewards that will help you stock up on the consumable.

Unfortunately, later on, you completely stop receiving Hero Essence from AFK Stages, so if you're at a bottleneck and wondering where you can get more Hero Essence you can scroll through your AFK Stages and check if any of the further stages give Hero Essence as a reward.

Another good tip that you can use is to always use the Daily free chances you get to receive a good boost of Hero Essence

Daily Quests

Apart from the AFK Stages, a good daily boost of Hero Essence is the Daily Quests.

The Daily Quests award you with two 4-hour Hero Essence potions that give you Hero Essence equal to 4 hours of AFK farming so if you're looking where to get the last push of Hero Essence from then the Daily Quests may be the way to go.

A good tip here is to save your Daily Quest rewards for the end of the day so that you push as far as possible in the AFK Stages.

Legend Trial

The next best way, though slightly harder, to get Hero Essence is by climbing the Legend Trial tower.

The tower is divided into 4 types based on each of the factions and by completing a certain milestone you will receive a reward of 250 Hero Essence.

You receive this 250 Hero Essence every 10 floors or so, so if you complete all 4 Legend Trials when you can you'll be able to get a bit more Hero Essence.

Noble Path

Another great and easy way to get Hero Essence is from the Noble Path rewards.

The Noble Path is the battle pass system in AFK Journey and it gives a ton of rewards for all players.

Although free-to-play players won't get as much value from it as those who've bought the Noble Path it is still a good way to get a decent amount of Hero Essence and might be the thing that will just help you get enough to break through.

Chests and Open World

The final way to get Hero Essence is by exploring the Open World and opening chests.

The open world in AFK Journey has a ton of things you can collect and some of them even give Hero Essence, although not that much but it stacks up.

Furthermore, whenever you open a chest you get a good amount of Hero Essence. So if you have not gathered all of the chests in the areas we suggest going around and seeing if you can defeat the monsters there to open the chests and get some Hero Essence to help you push through.
