AFK Journey: Magic Charms Full Guide - How to Get

Magic Charms is the newest way to increase your power in AFK Journey. They are a new mechanic that was introduced with the Song of Strife season and can be obtained from Dura’s Trials.

Magic Charms is an easy way to instantly increase your heroes’ power and will also help some heroes climb the tier lists.

In this guide, we’ll show you what Magic Charms are, how to get them, and how to use them.

What are Magic Charms

Magic Charms are a new type of equipment you can put on your heroes to increase their power.

Not only do Magic Charms give your heroes unique stats, but they are also hero-specific, meaning that each hero has unique Magic Charms that no other hero can equip. They can be divided between types and rarities.

The three Magic Charm types are:

• Left
• Mid
• Right

The five Magic Charm rarities are:

• Rare
• Elite
• Epic
• Legendary
• Mythic

The base attributes that a Magic Charm grants increase with each rarity. Additionally, Magic Charms also give a Season Hero Set Bonus, which provides a unique hero benefit when three Magic Charms of the same rarity are gathered together. 

NOTE: Season Hero Set Bonuses only activate when you have equipped 3 Magic Charms of Elite or above rarity.

These Season Hero Set Bonuses also get stronger based on the rarity of Magic Charms you have equipped, so you will want to get a ton of Mythic Magic Charms as soon as possible.

How to Get Magic Charms

You can get Magic Charms by clearing Treasure Challenges in Dura’s Trials, which unlock after you’ve reached Season AFK Stage 305.

By clearing these Treasure Challenges, you will get several random Magic Charms of different rarities. Although this sounds brutal and is based on pure RNG, different Treasure Challenges have increased rates for role-specific Magic Charms, which will hopefully make the day-to-day grind easier.

Treasure Challenges reward different rarities of Magic Charms, with lower floors rewarding lower-rarity ones and higher floors giving the better Magic Charms. 

After clearing a Treasure Challenge once, you will have the option to run it again to get even more Magic Charms. 

To do this, you will need Dura’s Tokens, which are capped at 3 per day, and refresh daily, so make sure you do your three Treasure Challenge runs every day to get a lot of Magic Charms.

NOTE: You can increase the cap on Dura’s Token by reaching the 6th and 12th floors of any 10 Treasure Challenges. Which will bring the total daily Dura’s Tokens to 5.

Magic Charms are powerful tools to increase your heroes’ strength, and thanks to the Season Hero Set Bonus they give, some heroes that were forgotten might make a comeback in the Tier List. 

As such, it is important that you unlock Dura’s Trails as fast as possible and start farming for Magic Charms so that you do not waste any Dura’s Tokens.

How to Equip Magic Charms

After you’ve gotten some Magic Charms now it’s time to put them to use. Follow these steps to equip Magic Charms:

• Open [Resonating Hall]
• Pick a [Hero]
• Open the [Magic Charms Wheel] in the bottom left, next to the equipment icon
• Pick a slot and equip the Magic Charm

Simple as that. Generally, you won’t even need to go through this process as the AFK Journey developers have simplified it, as to where you will get an auto-equip button when you open the Magic Charms Wheel.

You don’t need to worry about which Magic Charms you are equipping before you start getting Mythic Magic Charms, so before then just equip the highest rarity Magic Charms you have.
