Apex Legends recently entered season 20, and as always buffs and nerfs have been added to our favorite weapons, changing how and when they are best used. There weren't as many adjustments to the guns as in previous seasons, but there were enough to shift their positions in the tier list. Considering that the care package weapons are in a league of their own, we won’t be including them here.
We will start with the worst and move to the best guns available in season 20.
Apex Legends Season 20: Weapon Tier List
Apex Legends Season 20: D Tier Weapons
So here we start with two weapons that just don't cut it. While in certain situations, you can deal some damage, overall they are just not worth your while.
P2020
RE-45 Auto
The RE-45 has seen some improvements this season but if you find yourself in up-close fights you will get blown away by far better SMGs.

Apex Legends Season 20: C Tier Weapons
Here we will find four weapons that might not be the worst but are not great. Despite not having anything wrong with the three LMGs, they're not what the game is about right now. With most fights being fast and up-close, these weapons don't have the handling and speed to keep up.
M600 Spitfire
The Spitfire may be easy to control and with a high fire rate can cause massive damage but it's not versatile.
Rampage LMG
Devotion LMG
Triple Take
The Triple Take has a similar problem as the LMGs. At medium-to-long range, it can be an ideal weapon but when up close it will lose every time to SMGs or shotguns.

Apex Legends Season 20: B Tier Weapons
Now we move into the next tier, having another four weapons to deal with, all of which are superior vs. their C tier counterparts.
Alternator SMG
Even though the Alternator is easy to use, it isn't the best SMG in the game right now. You can still lose close-up battles with this weapon and increasing distance steeply decreases effectiveness.
Charge Rifle
This weapon can deal massive damage over long distances but the charge-up time can make you miss valuable opportunities if your foe knows what he is doing. It is a decent sniper but there are better options out there.
R-99 SMG
Respawn Entertainment has nerfed this SMG, making it even harder to control than in previous seasons. Unless your recoil control is on point, you are better off finding another weapon.
Longbow DMR
This semi-automatic marksman rifle is great at taking shot after shot but when it comes to damage you start to realize it's just an average weapon.

Apex Legends Season 20: A Tier Weapons
We have a few more guns in this tier. Considering how the game has been played recently, here are some better weapon choices.
30-30 Repeater
Not as powerful as it has been in the previous seasons, the 30-30 remains a stand-up marksman rifle.
G7 Scout
With a good fire rate and decent damage, the G7 holds up. This weapon is a good choice if you can hit headshot after headshot.
Havoc Rifle
Dealing a surprisingly high amount of damage, the Havoc is a great weapon early on. You will need the Turbocharger later if you don't want the delay to be a problem, but overall the Havoc is a versatile gun.
Mastiff
Like the other shotguns in this tier, the Mastiff is a great weapon for the style of play happening now. It's consistent, just not as powerful as the others.
Mozambique
Peacekeeper
The Peacekeeper is a good hard-hitting shotgun, but is not as consistent as the Mastiff.
Sentinel
Many agree that the Sentinel is the go-to sniper rifle, due to the charge-up potential. If you can hit consistent headshots, you will decimate the enemy.
Volt SMG
The only reason this SMG is not in the S tier is simply because there are better weapons out there. It's easy to use and diverse enough that it's a decent weapon in almost all situations but that doesn't make it the best.

Apex Legends Season 20: S Tier Weapons
Now we have reached the best of the best. These weapons are the ones you will be looking to run as often as possible.
C.A.R. SMG
The most popular SMG this season has to be the C.A.R. It's perfect for running into danger, unleashing your mag, and still being alive to talk about it. Not much can be said against it, especially when it comes to how diverse it is with ammo types and attachments.
The next three guns are basically the same weapon, each with slight pros and cons. The Flatline has more damage but lower recoil control. The R-301 has better recoil but doesn't do as much damage, and the Nemesis is pure strength. Even though it's a burst-fire weapon, it can be used as a fully automatic by holding the fire button.
VK-47 Flatline
R-301 Carbine
Nemesis Burst AR

L-STAR EMG
In season 20, the L-STAR has been improved. As long as you remember that this weapon is an LMG and won't be as fast as other weapons, you can adapt and catch your opponents off guard.
Prowler Burst PDW
There isn't much to be said about the Prowler. It did lose the potential to be a fully automatic when it came out of the care package, but if you take the time to learn how to use it as a burst fire weapon, you will see how strong it can be.
Hemlok Burst AR
Even though the Hemlok is not as powerful as it was in previous seasons, the nerfs haven't knocked it out of S tier. It remains one of the strongest guns in the game. If you don't like it as a burst-fire weapon, switch to single fire and it works great at medium-to-long distances.
