A shocking hack has thrown the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) North American Finals into chaos, forcing an indefinite postponement. This unprecedented breach saw pro players involuntarily given aimbots and wallhacks during live tournament matches.
ALGS Players Hacked Mid-Match
The hacks targeted two of Apex Legends' biggest stars - TSM’s Phillip "ImperialHal" Dosen and DarkZero’s Noyan "Genburten" Ozkose. Both had hack interfaces that suddenly appeared on the screen, automatically enabling cheats like aim assist and x-ray vision against the players' will.
Despite teammates urging them to quit, Genburten continued briefly before exiting as ImperialHal tried playing on by avoiding shooting. However, administrators swiftly intervened to shut the finals down.
Afterward, ImperialHal received a temporary game ban when trying to play ranked, indicating potential account compromises.

Concerns Over Wider Threats
The fact that anti-cheat defenses failed so catastrophically has sparked worries that regular player accounts may also be vulnerable. There is speculation the hacker "Destroyer2009" utilized remote code execution exploits that could theoretically target anyone.
Destroyer2009 has become notorious for ruining ranked games, but interfering with professional play represents an alarming escalation.
While nothing suggests the general public is presently at risk, experts advise taking precautions like avoiding Apex until Respawn addresses the problems. Uninstalling is likely unnecessary unless directly affected, but concerned tournament participants may want to reformat their PCs.
With competitors compromised and finals unfinished, it is unclear when or how ALGS will resume crowning a North American champion.
