The early months of 2024 kick off with a substantial update for Wild Rift. Patch 5.0A lands in February, offering a new assassin champion Talon, the return of the Lunar Event and Arena mode, as well as meaningful buffs and nerfs to change up the meta.
Arriving on February 23rd, Talon the Blade's Shadow brings lethal single-target damage as a jungle or baron lane pick. His innate mobility and invisibility allows Talon to quickly strike priority targets and utilize terrain for tricky escape routes.
The Lunar Extravaganza event also opens on February 8th, providing Aurelion Sol's Lunar Guardian skin free alongside three earnable chromas. Players can send red pockets to friends for a chance at poro energy and random skin drops.
The fan-favorite Arena mode additionally comes back on February 12th for frantic team fight action on Howling Abyss. This mode condenses Wild Rift's core elements into quick back-and-forth brawls over objectives.

A series of measured buffs aim to improve certain champions' viability during the early stages of matches. Garen receives boosted damage on Decisive Strike and Judgment to increase his pressure in the baron lane.
Aurelion Sol gets some maneuverability upgrades to his Astral Flight to enable more playmaking. Lastly, Syndra sees expanded health and damage improvements to round out her identity as a burst mage.
Garen
Baron Laners these days have a wide variety of items to choose from depending on their lane match-up. This puts Garen in a tricky spot as he no longer has the early game pressure he used to exert. We’re giving him a little boost in damage to make sure his sword stays sharpened.
Decisive Strike
- Damage: 30/70/110/150 + 40% Attack Damage → 40/80/120/160 + 40% Attack Damage
Judgment
- Damage per on-hit: 11/14/17/20 + 30%/35%/40%/45% Attack Damage → 12/16/20/24 + 30%/35%/40%/45% Attack Damage
Aurelion Sol
It’s easy to make the wrong turn on Aurelion Sol. You could say… he’s a little hard to drive. We’re going to optimize his maneuverability during Astral Flight so you can make sick plays while staying on track.
Astral Flight
- Optimized maneuverability

Fizz loses some power in his burst combos and wave clear. Twitch sees attack damage and attack speed growth stunted slightly, alongside his Spray and Pray steroid.
