Cyberpunk 2077 is gearing up for its Update 2.0 release, scheduled for September 21st, according to developer CD Projekt Red (CDPR). This update promises substantial improvements to the game, featuring revamped perk and skill trees, vehicle combat, car chases, and an overhauled police system.
The revamped perk and skill trees are expected to have a profound impact on gameplay. CDPR aims to streamline the system by offering fewer, but more impactful perks for players to choose from. Instead of minor percentage increases to damage, players will unlock distinct abilities that significantly alter their playstyle. Examples include the "Hack-&-Slash Netrunner" and the "Bullet-Time Ninja," as demonstrated by CDPR developers in a recent broadcast. Additionally, players can explore the new perks using an in-browser build planner.
Update 2.0 will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, which is a welcome development considering the game's initial struggles on older consoles.
