The glitch, discovered earlier this week, involved a complex process where players had to team up with a friend in the Seasonal Realm, disconnect their internet, and then log back in with their Eternal hero to access the Seasonal Realm. The exploit raised concerns among players as it appeared to be a violation of the game's rules, potentially leading to bans.

In response to player concerns and a thread on the Blizzard Forums, Global Community Development Director Adam Fletcher confirmed that the issue had been addressed in Diablo 4's most recent hotfix, which was deployed on August 2. He assured players that the exploit was no longer present in the game and that actions were taken against those who had used it.

Fletcher's statement read, "I just wanted to let everyone know that this was addressed a few days ago in our last hotfix and hasn’t been present in the game since. We have also actioned on select accounts related to this incident. We appreciate everyone for bringing this to our attention."

While the specifics of the penalties handed out to exploiters were not disclosed, Blizzard has recently been strict with enforcing its policies against game-modifying software and warned of permanent bans for users found in violation. Whether similar consequences apply to the Seasonal exploit remains uncertain.

With the glitch now fixed, players can enjoy a fair and balanced experience in Diablo 4's Seasonal Realm without concerns about unfair advantages gained through unintended exploits.
