Diablo 4 Season 4 launched just a couple of days ago, and players have already started their journey through all the new content available in the game, including the seasonal reputation, new endgame activities, and mechanics. As with any new season in Diablo 4, one of the best ways to progress through the game is by aiming to complete the different tasks in your Seasonal Journey. These challenges help push the player through the many stages of the leveling process, giving them small goals that will guide their journey to the endgame while also providing various rewards.

Even though most of the objectives in the Seasonal Journey are quite easy to understand, there are others that can be somewhat vague and confusing. One of them is based around a status effect called Bloodmarked, which some players might not have even seen in Diablo 4. In this article, we will explain exactly what Bloodmarked is and how you can use it to complete the tasks in your Seasonal Journey.

How to Become Bloodmarked in Diablo 4 Season 4

The new Seasonal Journey in Diablo 4 requires players to defeat 666 monsters, 25 elites and the Seething Abomination 5 times while being under the influence of the Bloodmarked status effect. Bloodmarked is the effect you have to gain in order to participate in PvP activities within the game. By becoming Bloodmarked, you become hostile to all players in the Fields of Hatred PvP zones, allowing you to duel enemy players and take their ears upon victory, similar to Diablo 2. In order to become Bloodmarked, there are a few things you need to do:

Travel to one of the two Fields of Hatred PvP zones in Diablo 4. These zones can be distinguished by their red hue in comparison to the rest of the map. You can find one of them in the Dry Steppes region and one in the Kehjistan region.

Once you reach one of these zones, it's time to become Bloodmarked. In order to enter PvP and become hostile, you will first need to open up your Emote Wheel and hit the 'Customize' button. From here, navigate to the last tab of the Emote Options tab, and you will be able to find the Mark for Blood emote. Click and drag this emote and add it to one of your slots below. Don't forget to save your changes!

The last thing left to do is to open up your emote wheel and select the Mark for Blood option. You will now become Bloodmarked and hostile to all enemy players in the region. Keep in mind that you have to leave the town in order to apply the status effect. Now you can start completing the three different chapters of your new Season Journey by defeating 666 monsters, 25 Elites, and the Seething Abomination 5 times. Keep in mind that other players are going to attempt to do the same, so you might end up in more PvP situations than you expect!
