Does Helldivers 2 Have a Campaign?

Helldivers 2 is an incredibly successful shooter where you are fighting the enemies of Super Earth and spreading liberty across the galaxy, one bullet at a time. You can team up with your friends or strangers in a squad of 4 and take on Terminids or Automatons.

As helldivers, you drop onto different planets, armed with your best loadout, and take the fight to the aliens. You will die repeatedly but the civilians of Super Earth remember each and every sacrifice. Considering Helldivers 2 is a PVE experience, we are all working together. Some people are curious if there is a campaign or story mode where they can understand what the war is about.

Is There a Campaign Mode in Helldivers 2?

While Helldivers 2 does not have a campaign, Arrowhead has designed it so that everything you do while playing will affect the story of the galactic war. With every victory or defeat, the story adapts to our actions and the developers at Arrowhead then build missions and Major Orders that depict how the war will evolve.

Arrowhead also appointed a Game Master to watch our progress in real-time and react with enemy reinforcements or allied assistance, depending on the need of the community. You can look at it as if Helldivers 2 does have a campaign, only it is not for any individual player. Instead, Arrowhead strives towards making a story that affects thousands of gamers.

By yourself, you will not win the war in Helldivers 2. As a community, we are all in a campaign moving forward one mission at a time. There is no clear path forward when dealing with so many variables but Arrowhead is doing a great job of keeping us immersed in the story of Helldivers 2.
