Dragon’s Dogma 2 is full of strange side-quests with interesting storylines, mythological beasts, and multiple outcomes. A Case of Sculptor’s Block is one of these quests. While the quest giver does tell you what he wants from you, there is a much better and simpler way to complete this mission.

You will have to do a little extra work but the rewards make it worth it. If you go and find Medusa and use her decapitated head, you will save yourself a frustrating battle with a griffin.

Where to Start A Case of Sculptor’s Block in Dragon’s Dogma 2

To begin A Case of Sculptor’s Block in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you will need to go searching in the Noble District in Vernworth. Look for a balding male human standing outside his estate. As you get close to him, he will approach and introduce himself. His name is Klark and he will boast about his large art collection.

Klark is waiting for the last piece and asks you to check on the artist the next time you are in Bakbattahl. A Case of Sculptor’s Block is not a time quest so there is no need to rush. The next time you find yourself in the capital of Battahl, head over to the Residential Ward and look for Fulvio’s Workshop. You can find it around the corner from the purchasable house in Bakbattahl.

Fulvio is having some trouble coming up with the perfect sculpture and suggests that you go with him to fight a griffin. He will ask you to prolong the battle for as long as you can so he can complete the sketch. He will hint that he prefers to petrify the beasts but doesn’t explain how.

Before you meet Fulvio at the griffin’s lair, you will need to find Medusa. You can use the detached head of the mythological monster to turn the griffin into stone. If you have already killed Medusa, the creature will respawn after 14 in-game days. Check out our guide to finding Medusa and how to decapitate it in the best way.

Now you are armed with the head of Medusa, go and meet Fulvio at the Wasteland Griffin’s Nest. As soon as you have engaged the griffin in battle, wait for it to land and use Medusa’s head to turn it into stone.

If you don’t want to fight Medusa just yet, you can always deal with the griffin without it. You will have to prolong the battle by using weapons with low damage. If you defeat it too early, Fulvio will not have enough time to complete the sketch and create a poor sculpture. It might also fly off if its health falls too low so it is best to evade it as much as possible.

Regardless of how you choose to deal with the griffin, after the battle wait a few days and head to Fulvio's Workshop. He will announce he is ready to present the sculpture to Klark. To end the quest, you will need to return to Vernworth and enter Klark’s estate. Make sure you look around for chests while you are there.

The end result will depend on how you dealt with the griffin. If you used Medusa’s head or took a long time in the battle, Klark will love the finished product and praise Fulvio. You will receive 4,500 XP and 14,000 gold for your effort but if you killed the griffin before Fulvio managed to finish his sketch, the rewards will be half what you could have earned.
