In Final Fantasy XIV, leveling up a new job can be a little difficult, but there is no right or wrong method to do it. However, if you want to level up without using Tales of Adventure, there are undoubtedly more effective ways to accomplish the task. With the help of all the experience buffs available, you’ll have a much smoother and faster experience.

Food

In FFXIV, any food you use will give you a 3% experience bonus in combat. The stats the food gives you don’t matter as long as you get the EXP buff. It might just be 3%, but it adds up in the long run. You can buy food from most vendors.

The Heat of Battle

You can also activate a buff from your Free Company or have your Free Company captain do so. The Heat of Battle II is the easiest way to get an experience boost, providing 24 hours of +10% experience. This can be exchanged for 7,000 company seals at the Free Company administration centers in Gridania, Limsa Lominsa, and U'ldah.

The Heat of Battle III likewise provides a 15% increase, but grade three buffs are unique items that your Free Company will need to craft and may have limited access to.

Rested EXP

Remember to log out or remain idle in Sanctuary places in order to benefit from Rested EXP. Any location that has an Aetheryte is a Sanctuary. Simply said, Rested EXP is the experience that has been stored up to 1.5 levels and is given back to you as a +50% boost on monsters killed until the bonus is depleted.

Armory Bonus

You should get an Armory Bonus automatically if this is your second job to level. Bonuses for secondary jobs at levels 1-79 are +100%, while bonuses at levels 80+ are just +50%.

You will always receive an Armory Bonus while leveling up if your highest class level is 90. It makes the most sense to level one job all the way to 90 first, then take advantage of the EXP boost with your secondary jobs if your goal is to level multiple jobs.
