Damage Cap is one of the key features in Granblue Fantasy: Relink that, as the name implies, caps a lot of the damage that you could be doing at endgame.

What is Damage Cap
Damage Cap is one of the most important stats in Granblue Fantasy: Relink, and it is also the one that has the biggest impact on your damage.
Damage Cap in Granblue Fantasy: Relink is a system in the game that caps your damage at a certain point. For example, even if your character is able to do 1,000,000 damage with an attack, you might only hit 500,000 because your Damage Cap stat is low. A clear indication if you’ve reached the damage cap is a slight yellow glow around you Critical Hit attacks. If you are seeing this it means that you are at the damage cap and need to increase your Damage Cap stat.
A good way to check this is to go to the Grandcypher from the Docks in either Folca or Seedhollow and interact with Sir Barrold to test your damage. This way you will easily be able to see if you’re hitting the damage cap of your attacks.
When you get to the endgame you will start getting really strong weapons, and you will also be increasing your Characters’ masteries which will lead to you reaching the Damage Cap. Once you have reached the Damage Cap you will not be able to do any more damage unless you increase the damage cap percent of your characters.

The best way to increase Damage Cap is through Sigils, and more specifically through the Damage Cap sigil. Sigils offer a great boost to your characters and are an integral part of Relink. The Damage Cap Sigil is probably the most important one after character specific sigils and offers a great boost to your damage.
The Damage Cap Trait can go up to level 65 where it gives a total of +250% to you Damage Cap for Attacks, Skills and SBA. It is important to try and reach the Level 65 Damage Cap trait for all of your characters if you want to deal the most damage possible.

Masteries
Another way to increase your Damage Cap is through Character Masteries. Masteries have various nodes that increase the damage cap for your attacks or skills, so maxing out your Masteries is an important step to increasing your Damage Cap further.
Another thing you can do is try and get Damage Cap on your Over Masteries to get an even higher Damage Cap percent.
