Where to Find Iron in Hades 2
You can only find iron in one region of Hades 2. When you obtain the Incantation that allows Melinoe to breathe on the surface, you will head to the Rift of Thessaly at some point. As you are fighting your way through the ships in the second biome aboveground, keep your eye out for stacks of cannonballs. You can also find iron on the islands in the Rift of Thessaly.
There is no guarantee you find iron in the Rift of Thessaly every run but that is the only location it will spawn. For that reason, whenever you see any nodes, you should be mining as much as you can.

How to Mine Iron in Hades 2
The first thing you need to do is make sure you always bring the Crescent Pick along. It is one of the first tools you’ll unlock so there should be no issue with bringing it with you. Just like with all the other resource nodes, you will have to hit the cannonballs with your pick several times.
This will give you three pieces of iron. You are going to need as much as you can so don’t let any go unnoticed. Now you have some collected, let’s have a look at what you can do with it.

Hades 2: How to Use Iron
Iron is a rare resource in Hades 2 and is only used for certain high-level upgrades and incantations. Here is what iron is used for:
- Crescent Pick Rank 2
- Aspect of Medea for the Argent Skull
- Greater Favor of Gaia Incantation
- Sandy Lifespring Incantation
All of these are incredibly helpful to have available but we recommend you start with the Crescent Pick upgrade. This will make it easier for you to mine more iron.
That is everything you need to know about how you can get your hands on some iron in Hades 2. It might not be the most common material throughout Hades 2 but you need to collect as much as possible if you want to be fully prepared to face Chronos.
