Hades 2: Where is Zagreus?

Hades 2 has now entered Early Access as many players are already praising the game for its aesthetically beautiful and stylish art, intuitive and fun gameplay, as well as amazing storytelling, and rewarding mechanics. As Hades 2 sets the scene as the successor and sequel of Hades, we find ourselves playing with Melinoë, the sister of Hades' titular character, Zagreus.

Given how well-received the first title was, players quickly became fascinated with Zagreus and his story, given how his family had come to an upsetting fate, Zagreus was at the forefront of uncovering the mystery behind his mother's (Persephone) abandonment. 

With that being said, we will take a look at whether the protagonist of Hades is in Hades 2 and try to find out what happened to him and what role he might play in the sequel.

Is Zagreus in Hades 2

So far, the only appearance of Zagreus in Hades 2 is in the family portrait when you pass by Melinoë's room. Unfortunately, the Early Access version of Hades 2 does not have the option to interact with Zagreus, however, we might see his arrival later in the game. 

Although the main story and focus revolves around Melinoë, their familiar connection can play a role in Hades 2, given the combined goal of hunting down Chronos. Despite this, the voice actor of Zagreus does not show up in the credits for the game, so we might not see the protagonist return to aid his sister.

All in all, it is too early to speculate whether Zagreus will return in Hades 2, the developers might have some surprises in store for players as they continue working on the game, preparing for the official launch possibly next year.
