Naga Demon Hunter Takes a Hit

The devs note that while Naga Demon Hunter has emerged as a popular new tribal deck, its power level remains an outlier. As such, a change was made to a key enabler:

Blindeye Sharpshooter

• Old: 1/5
• New: 1/3

By reducing health, the card is easier to remove in the early game. This gives opponents more counterplay against the high-roll pop-off turns. However, the game plan remains viable for players who enjoy the archetype.

Paladin Combo Consistency Reduced

Across most ranks, Paladin continues performing well with various late-game combo styles. To reduce the efficiency of bridging to those win conditions:

Order in the Court

• Old: Drew a card after reordering the deck
• New: Reorder your deck from highest Cost to lowest Cost.

As one of the strongest cards in Paladin, limiting free tutoring should constrain the class’s power.

Hunter Gets Pre-Emptive Hits

Hunter occupied the other top meta spot targeted for reductions in this patch. Both an individual card and a key neutral minion were changed:

Always a Bigger Jormungar

• Old: [1 Mana]
• New: [2 Mana]

Defense Attorney Nathanos

• Old: 5/4
• New: 4/4

In addition to pushing Hunter’s early game back slightly, Attorney Nathanos was pre-emptively dropped to a 4/4. This accounts for new synergies granted this patch.

Warlock Excavate Scaled Back

Finally, the devs took another look at Excavate Warlock’s burst potential:

Azerite Snake

• Old: [6 Mana] Gain 10 armor
• New: [4 Mana] Gain 7 armor

While stronger early, needing 5 procs instead of 3 to enable lethal brings the deck’s clock more in line.

Neutral Beasts

• Goldrinn: 3/3 → 3/2
• Banana Slamma: 2/5 [Tier 4] → 3/6 [Tier 5]
• Mama Bear: 4/4 [Tier 5] → 3/3 [Tier 4]

Neutral Elementals

• Dancing Barnstormer: 3/2 [Tier 4] → 2/1 [Tier 2]
• Flourishing Frostling: 0/6 [Tier 2] → 1/1 [Tier 4] 

Neutral Murlocs

• Diremuck Forager: Old: 4/3. Start of Combat: Give a Murloc in your hand +2/+2, then summon it for this combat only → New: 3/4. Start of Combat: Give a minion in your hand +2/+2, then summon it for this combat only.
• Bassgill:  Old: [Tier 5] 8/3. Deathrattle: Summon the highest Health minion from your hand for this combat only. → New: [Tier 4] 7/2. Deathrattle: Summon the highest Health Murloc from your hand for this combat only.
• Murky: 6/5 ( Battlecry: Give a friendly Murloc +1/+1.) → 6/4( Battlecry: Give a friendly Murloc +10/+10.)

Other Neutrals

• Captain Flat Tusk: After spending 3 gold, get Blood Gem. (Was 4 gold)
• Aggem Thorncurse: 3/6 → 3/5
• Rock Rock: +2 Attack. Swaps to Health. → +2 Attack & Health. No swapping.
• Carbonic Copy: 3/3 [Tier 4] → 6/7 [Tier 5]
• Tavern Tempest: 4/4 [Tier 5] → 2/2 [Tier 4]
• Gunpowder Courier: 2/4 → 2/6

Anomaly Updates

• Forest Warden Omu and Kurtrus Ashfallen are now banned from games with the Money Match Anomaly.
• Forest Warden Omu is now banned from games with the Valuation Inflation Anomaly.
• The Yogg-iseum Anomaly is now returned to the Anomaly Pool.
