Helldivers 2: The Automatons Have Returned

For the last few days, we have been celebrating our great victory over the Automatons. Our Helldivers were planning their retirement from the military and were starting to worry about what kind of job follows blowing giant bugs up. Then everything went wrong.

Helldivers 2 took an abrupt turn when Arrowhead announced that the Automatons had returned. Operation Swift Disassembly had not been a success. It was all a trap.

The bots we have been destroying were simply the vanguard of the Automaton forces. The bots have gathered en masse and have started their assault on Cyberstan, again. It’s up to us to push the machines back and spill some oil.

The New Major Order in Helldivers 2

Arrowhead sent out an announcement on Discord and Twitter calling all Helldivers to return to the war.

Somehow, the Automatons returned.

As suspected all along, the previous Bot force was merely a vanguard. A massive fleet has now begun an assault of Cyberstan and the surrounding planets. Helldivers, hold back this unprovoked invasion. The fight continues!

If the Automatons succeed in taking Cyberstan, that would place them closer to Super Earth than ever before. Who knows what that could mean? It's unlikely we will ever find out because thousands of Helldivers have already started to push them back.

The Automatons are persistent in their mission for the Reclamation. Many fans have theories that if they succeed, it could mean the Cyborgs could join the war in Helldivers 2 but we don’t really know what their next plans will be. For now, we know what we need to do and that is to spread democracy one bullet at a time.

The latest Major Order is to defend the planets surrounding Cyberstan.

We have to defend five planets for 3 days and then we will have to see what Joel has up his sleeve next. Many fans saw this coming. There was no way Arrowhead was going to let one of the two enemy factions leave the war. While there has been some talk of the Illuminate joining the struggle, it seems we will have to wait a little while longer before we will see them.
