Honkai Star Rail 2.0: Best DPS Tier List

With the release of Honkai: Star Rail and the addition of new characters the meta is slowly shifting and with it, there are also some changes to the current DPS characters and where they are placed.

This article will look at the best DPS characters in Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.0 by putting them into a neat tier list.

Tier List Explanation

For this tier list, we will divide the characters into 6 tiers. These tiers will be:

• D
• C
• B
• A
• S
• SS

D rank will include the weakest DPS characters while the best characters will be in SS rank. The tier list will focus on a character’s overall strength, not a specific mode.

The ranks of the characters are based on their utility, personal strength, and how well they do in Honkai: Star Rail’s various modes.

D Tier

The characters in D Tier see almost no use in the current version of the game, and although they can be built to match the higher tiers they require a lot of investment. The characters that fall into this tier are:

• Arlan
• Hook
• Dan Heng
• Trailblazer (Physical)

C Tier

The characters in this tier are slightly better than the D Tier characters when dealing damage, however, their multipliers are still lower than some of the better tiers and require a lot of investment to get a good return. The characters in this tier are:

• Serval
• Misha
• Herta
• Sushang

B Tier

The characters in B Tier can do a lot of damage with a little bit less investment than the C Tier characters and have more teams where they can be viable. The characters in B Tier are:

• Himeko
• Yanqing
• Xueyi
• Luka

A Tier

A Tier characters are easier to build than B Tier characters and have more utility when it comes to teams that they can be used in. The characters in A Tier are:

• Jing Yuan
• Clara
• Welt
• Sampo
• Guinaifen
• Qingque

S Tier

The S Tier characters are some of the best characters in the game that require little investment to do a ton of damage.

The characters here see more use in many of Honkai: Star Rail’s modes and are overall a solid pick for any team.

Argenti

Argenti is a great pick if you are looking for a DPS character that can easily destroy a wave of enemies. He is a great unit, but his energy requirements and low multipliers put him down to the S tier.

Blade

Blade still holds his place as one of the best damage dealers in the game despite being a bit old. Thanks to his HP scaling Blade is easy to build and can fit into any team to both tank and deal a lot of damage.

Seele

Seele is a great character when it comes to dealing with single enemies and with the addition of Sparkle she fits great into a mono-quantum team, which can draw out the most of her potential.

Dr. Ratio

Dr. Ratio is one of the better Hunt characters and his follow-up attacks make him not only fun to play but quite strong. If you pair him with a debuffer you almost completely remove the RNG factor in his kit and can make him quite strong.

Topaz

Although by herself Topaz isn't the strongest character, if paired with any other follow-up attacker she can deal a ton of damage to single enemies and carry you through a lot of content. Topaz is also one of the few characters from the Fire Element making her desirable for a lot of content.

Black Swan

Black Swan is the newest DPS character to join the roster in Version 2.0. She is a great DoT character that pairs well with any other DoT character. To bring out the most of her potential you will want to pair her with Kafka, but even if you don't have Kafka she can still do a ton of damage thanks to her Talent.

SS Tier

The SS Tier units are meta-defining units that not only have a ton of damage but are also the best at their roles. The characters in this tier do well with minimal investment and open the doors to a lot of team compositions. The characters in the SS Tier are:

Dan Heng Imbitor Lunae

Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae is one of the best single and multi-target damage dealers in Honkai: Star Rail. His huge multipliers make him a great character in any team and he can deal a ton of damage with low investment.

Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae

Jingliu

Jingliu is a great character that can deal a ton of damage to both single enemies and a group of 3 enemies. Her talent that grants her a ton of Crit Rate makes her easy to build.

Kafka

Kafka is the best DoT character in Honkai: Star Rail and is also the character that opens the possibility for DoT teams. She is a great unit to have on your roster and if you pair her with Black Swan you will easily clear any content.
