Black Swan is one of the newest announced characters coming to Honkai Star Rail in Version 2.0 next year. She will be a 5-star Wind character, following the Path of Nihility. Below is everything you need to know about Black Swan!

Black Swan Speculated Release Date

Black Swan’s banner is speculated to launch in the first phase of Version 2.0, meaning that it will go live on:

February 7, 2024

We are still unsure if the newly announced 4-star character Misha will be joining her on her banner, or if he will be accompanying Sparkle in the second phase of Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.0. Note that this is purely a speculative guess and it should be taken with a grain of salt.

Black Swan Kit and Abilities

Being a Nihility character Black Swan’s kit revolves around dealing damage and casting debuffs on enemies.

From what we currently know Black Swan’s kit relies heavily on an effect known as Sacrament.
Both Black Swan’s ATK and Skill have a chance of applying Sacrament to targets
Black Swan’s Ultimate triggers various DoTs based on Sacrament stacks that enemies have.
Sacrament is an effect that causes Wind DMG and the damage increases based on the number of stacks of Sacrament that an enemy has. These stacks reset, but can be maintained with the use of Black Swan’s ultimate.

BASIC ATK

Percipience, Silent Dawn - Basic ATK

Deals minor Wind DMG to an enemy and has a chance to inflict Sacrament on the target. If the target is in Wind Shear, Bleeding, Burning, or Shocked state, each debuff has a chance to inflict an additional stack of Sacrament.

SKILL

Decadence, False Twilight - SKILL

Deals minor Wind DMG to an enemy and enemies adjacent to it. In addition, this attack has a high chance to inflict Sacrament on the target and has a high chance to reduce the target‘s DEF.

ULT

Bliss of Otherworld's Embrace - ULTIMATE

Deals Wind DMG to all enemies and inflicts Revelation on them. Affected enemies take more damage in their turn, and their Sacrament effect is regarded as Wind Shear, Bleed, Burn, and Shock effects. In addition, when their Sacrament effect is triggered at the beginning of the next turn, the Sacrament stacks are not reset.

TALENT

Loom of Fate's Caprice - TALENT

When an enemy target receives DoT at the start of each turn, there is a chance for it to be inflicted with Sacrament. They receive Wind DoT at the start of the turn, and Black Swan triggers additional effects based on the number of Sacrament stacks.

TECH

From Façade to Vérité - TECHNIQUE

After using the Technique, at the beginning of the next battle, there is a high change to inflict Sacrament on all enemies. This effect will be repeated until it fails to inflict Sacrament on any of the enemies.

Black Swan Light Cone

Black Swan’s Light Cone is specially made for her, boosting her Effect Hit Rate, while also increasing ATK% and DoTs DEF Ignore.

Black Swan’s Light Cone Effect:

Light Cone Name: Reforged Remembrance
Effect: Increases wearer's Effect Hit Rate by 40%. When wearer deals DMG to an enemy inflicted with Wind Shear, Burn, Shock, or Bleed, they will individually gain 1 stack of Prohecy. This effect can stack up to 4 times. In a single battle, each type of DoT can only generate 1 stack of Prophecy. Every stack of Prophecy increases wearer's ATK by 5% and the DoT dealt will ignore 7.2% of the target's DEF.

Black Swan’s Eidolons

Black Swan’s Eidolons focus heavily on her Sacrament effect and increase both her personal DMG as well as the team’s DMG, however, this damage is heavily focused on DoT damage. Taking this into consideration, Black Swan may turn out to be Kafka’s new best friend.

Summary

Black Swan will certainly be an interesting character to add to the Honkai: Star Rail roster. Her unique take on DoT damage and her unique trait in the form of Sacrament will surely bring a new type of gameplay and she’ll definitely be a unit that any Kafka haver may want.
