Welcome, Dr. Ratio! The latest 5-star Hunt Character using the Imaginary Type. He is set to release in Version 1.6 alongside the other Limited 5-star Character Ruan Mei. Who is Dr. Ratio

A candid and self-centered Intelligentsia Guild member, who often conceals his appearance with a strange plaster sculpture.

Dr. Ratio is the newest Limited 5-star character joining the Hunt character roster of Honkai Star Rail, alongside Seele & Topaz and Numby.

He is a Member of the Intelligentsia Guild, with an eccentric temperament, sharp-tongue. But with an elegant demeanor. As already mentioned, Dr. Ratio belongs to the Intelligentsia Guild, but who they are and what they do, you will have to find out in this new version of Honkai Star Rail.

As a character following the Path of the Hunt, Dr. Ratio’s skills are suited towards dealing with single enemies and his DMG relies heavily on the number of Debuffs an enemy has on them at any given time. Below you can see all of the information regarding his skills and what you can expect:

Mind is Might

• Deals Imaginary DMG equal to 50% (100%) of Dr. Ratio’s ATK to a single target enemy.

Intellectual Midwifery

• Deals Imaginary DMG equal to 75% (150%) of Dr. Ratio’s ATK to a single target enemy.

ULT

Syllogistic Paradox

• Deals Imaginary DMG equal to 144% (240%) of Dr. Ratio’s ATK to a single target enemy and applies Wiseman’s Folly. When Dr. Ratio’s allies attack a target afflicted with Wiseman’s Folly, Dr. Ratio launches his Talent’s follow-up attack for 1 time against this target.
• Wiseman’s Folly can be triggered for up to 2 times and only affects the most recent target of Dr. Ratio’s Ultimate. This trigger count resets after Dr. Ratio’s Ultimate is used.

TECH

Mold of Idolatry

• After using this Technique, creates a special dimension that Taunts nearby enemies, lasting for 10 second(s). After entering battle with enemies in this special dimension, there is a 100% base chance to reduce each single enemy target’s SPD by 15% for 2 turn(s). Only 1 dimension created by allies can exist at the same time.

Cogito, Ergo Sum

• When using his Skill, Dr. Ratio has a 40% fixed chance of launching a follow-up attack against his target for 1 time, dealing Imaginary DMG equal to 135% (270%) of Dr. Ratio’s ATK.
• For each debuff the target enemy has, the fixed chance of launching follow-up attack increases by 20%. If the target enemy is defeated before the follow-up attack triggers, the follow-up attack will be directed at a single random enemy instead.

• When Skill is used to attack an enemy target, there is a 100% base chance to reduce the attacked target's Effect RES by 10% for 2 turn(s).

Summation

• When Dr. Ratio uses his Skill, for every debuff on the target, his CRIT Rate increases by 2.5% and CRIT DMG by 5%. This effect can stack up to 6 time(s).

Deduction

• When dealing DMG to a target that has 3 or more debuff(s), for each debuff the target has, the DMG dealt by Dr. Ratio to this target increases by 10%, up to a maximum increase of 50%.

Dr. Ratio Banner

Dr. Ratio’s Banner will run on the Second Half of the Version 1.6 update and will start right after Ruan Mei’s banner on what is speculated to be: January 17. His banner will feature the following 4-star: Sushang, Natasha, Hook!

Should you pull for Dr. Ratio

Dr. Ratio is certainly going to be a niche character to play. His reliance on Debuffs to proc the follow-up attacks from his Ultimate, make it so that his DMG is locked behind a tricky condition. 

On top of this, Dr. Ratio is a Hunt Character, and Hunt characters, or characters that deal mainly Single Target DMG aren’t that popular in Honkai Star Rail’s current state, which requires characters to be able to dish out damage to 2+ enemies. Overall he is an interesting pick, and if you do like his design and are looking for a strong single-target damage dealer, then go right ahead!
