Pure Fiction is the newest permanent mode in Honkai Star Rail that was announced during the Version 1.6 Livestream. There it was stated that this mode will appear after Version 1.6’s start on December 27th and will alternate with the current mode, Forgotten Hall: Memory of Chaos. What is Pure Fiction
Pure Fiction is the newest game mode in Honkai: Star Rail, set to go live in Version 1.6 it will feature a series of stages in which players will have to defeat waves of constantly respawning enemies, while being under the influence of a series of buffs that change with each different version of the Pure Fiction more. The mode will run alongside Memory of Chaos, giving players the chance to earn even more free Stellar Jade.
Similar to Memory of Chaos, players will have to assemble two teams to challenge the two Nodes in each Pure Fiction stage, as well as choose a buff for each team. After clearing the stages and earning the points, players will be able to get their rewards! Pure Fiction offers a total of 720 Stellar Jade and other rewards for each of its cycles.

Pure Fiction & Memory of Chaos Schedule
Honkai Star Rail just today shared a picture on their forum today that details the schedule for the occurrence of the new game mode, as well as how it will work alongside the current mode: Memory of Chaos. You can see the breakdown below:

Memory of Chaos
Enigma in Deep
- Duration: December 27th - February 5th
- Effect: After an ally Breaks enemies' Weaknesses or attacks Weakness Broken enemies, add 1 Hit Per Action to Memory Turbulence, up to 10 hits. At the start of every Cycle, every hit will deal DMG based on the enemy targets' respective Max HP to random enemy targets 1 time.
Light of Reignition
- Duration: January 22nd - March 4th
- Effect: At the start of every wave or Cycle, randomly applies 10 debuffs selected from the following: -8% ATK, -8% DEF, -8% SPD, -8% Effect RES, or receive 20% additional DMG from follow-up attacks. Each debuff stacks up to 3 times and lasts for 3 turns. This effect also causes 1 ally following either the Path of The Hunt or Path of Destruction to immediately take action.

Youci's Wandering Words
- Duration: January 1st - February 19th
- Effect: When allies use an Ultimate to attack target(s), inflict Shatter to the target(s) for up to 6 stacks. At the start of the target's turn or when the target is eliminated, deals a set amount of DMG to the target and adjacent targets based on the number of Shatter stacks.
Tales of a Tethered Bird
- Duration: February 5th - March 18th
- Effect: Increases DoT taken by enemy targets by 50%. Enemy targets that receive DoT have their DMG dealt greatly reduced by 35%. After they are attacked, their action is Advanced Forward by 35%.
