What is Notorious Hunt?
Notorious Hunt is a mode in Zenless Zone Zero that lets players challenge difficult bosses to get rewards.
This mode is quite straightforward and gets you straight to fighting without wasting your time with the TV mechanic and whatnot.
When you first unlock the mode, you get to choose between two bosses to fight, with a third one unlocked later as you progress through the main story.
These bosses reward you with boss materials that unlock characters’ core skills, Master Copies, which you use to research Disk Drives and other goods.
The only difference in rewards between the bosses in Notorious is the boss materials, so when choosing which boss to fight, you should first look at which characters you are building and what materials they need.
Difficulty
There are various difficulty levels in Notorious Hunt, with each difficulty unlocking at specified Inter-Knot Levels. A new difficulty not only makes the bosses stronger but also increases your rewards.
Challenge Attempts
Notorious Hunt allows you to challenge the bosses 3 times per week. Challenging the bosses in Notorious Hunt does not consume stamina, so you do not have to worry about managing it for this mode. The rewards you can receive from Notorious Hunt each week are pretty sweet, so make sure you do it all three times.
Challenge Rewards
Challenge Rewards are weekly rewards that you can obtain only after you have completed certain challenges. These rewards are separate from the rewards that you get for beating the bosses and are a nice addition to the goodies you already get.
To get these rewards, you simply need to play Notorious Hunt and do your best against the bosses. The Challenge Rewards can be found on the bottom left of the Notorious Hunt screen, so make sure to check them out.

How to Unlock Notorious Hunt
You unlock Notorious Hunt after you complete the Call That Name part of A Call From the Hollow’s Heart (B) and begin Chapter 2 Intermission. A Call From the Hollow’s Heart is the second chapter of ZZZ’s main story, and you will gradually unlock it as you play through the game.
After you complete the quest, you will receive a DM from Roland, who will ask you to go to Scott Outpost, where he’ll tell you about Disc Drives and tell you that a person named Ophelia wishes to recruit you for a new task.
After waiting until the following day, you will once again be asked to go to Scott Outpost, where you will meet Ophelia and unlock Notorious Hunt.

Notorious Hunt and Character Progression
Notorious Hunt is crucial when it comes to character progression, as it is the only mode that rewards the items that can unlock a character’s Core Skills.
A character’s Core Skill is a huge part of their kit, and just by leveling it up, you will see a big increase in power. However, to unlock Core Skills, you need a specific character level and material, which you can only get from the bosses in Notorious Hunt.
It is important to do your Notorious Hunt boss clears weekly so that you can make your characters even stronger.
