It's an exciting time for Cyberpunk 2077 enthusiasts. This week, the new 2.0 Update is set to roll out for players on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Following closely behind is the highly anticipated DLC expansion, Phantom Liberty.
Phantom Liberty promises to introduce an entirely fresh game area known as Dogtown. Additionally, it will embark V and Johnny Silverhand on a thrilling new narrative journey, where they'll encounter a host of new characters, including the notable Solomon Reed portrayed by Idris Elba. However, a word of caution – there's no romance option with him, so don't even attempt it.
But before all that, the core Cyberpunk 2077 game is receiving a significant upgrade. This update brings with it various enhancements and additions that fans have eagerly awaited since the game's initial release. However, CD Projekt Red has issued a warning to those planning to dive back into the game once the update is live.
In an official tweet, the developer conveyed, "Hey, chooms! While you'll be able to continue the game with your current character on an existing save, we recommend starting a new game after Cyberpunk 2077's Update 2.0. Due to the number of changes, starting fresh will enhance your overall gameplay experience!"
While it's not obligatory to initiate a new save file, the update ushers in multiple adjustments to gameplay mechanics and the skill tree. Therefore, beginning anew will provide a more comprehensive experience, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the fresh content.
Moreover, it's worth noting that the Phantom Liberty expansion does not necessitate completing the game; you only need to progress beyond a specific act, specifically Act Two's 'I Walk The Line' Quest, to access it.
Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 is scheduled for release on September 21, with the Phantom Liberty expansion following on September 26.
