Last Epoch: Can You Respec Your Character?

After being in Early Access for around 5 years, Last Epoch is finally set to release on February 21st. Eleventh Hour Games has entered the marketing phase of the release, with new trailers and information being revealed each and every day. The game will launch with all of the features ARPG players love, including a ton of classes, skill trees, items, and a vast endgame to test out your builds. However, with so many different build opportunities comes the anxiety of being able to easily reset your character to try something else.

One question that is always asked whenever a new ARPG comes into the limelight is whether or not you will be able to respec your character, as well as how easy it is to do so. With different games having different approaches to this system, let's take a look at how Last Epoch deals with respeccing your characters.

Can You Respec Your Character in Last Epoch?

There are a few different things to consider when you want to respec your character in Last Epoch. There are two ways in which you increase the power of your character in the game: through gaining Passive points and Skill points.

• Passive points are your traditional RPG skill tree, allowing you to progress through a series of nodes, each giving you different bonuses to your character. These passives are based on your chosen Mastery, and by reaching a certain amount of investment, you will be able to unlock new skills for your character.
  
  
• Skill points involve a separate skill tree for each of your active abilities. These abilities are unlocked by leveling up your character and by placing a certain amount of Passive points into any of your Mastery trees.

Both Passive points and Skill points can be respecced in Last Epoch. The only thing you are not able to switch at any point in the game is your chosen Mastery class.

• Passive Points can be respecced by talking to Chronomancer Lerinne in The End of Time or The Council Chambers locations in the game. She can be found by looking for the 'Brain' icon on the mini-map.
• Skill Points can be respecced by opening up your skill tree, heading to the skill in question, and clicking on the 'Respec' button on the top right of the screen.
