Last Epoch has different types of game modes and challenges, which will impact the way your character interacts with the world around them. Here is everything you need to know:

Last Epoch Game Modes

Last Epoch has 2 game modes which are pretty standard in the action RPG genre:

• Normal: This is going to be the standard mode in Last Epoch. There are no added modifiers or penalties for your character upon death. We recommend playing on Normal if this is your first experience with the game.

• Hardcore: Hardcore mode is a staple in the ARPG genre and it is also available in Last Epoch. Selecting the Hardcore mode will make it so your character only has one life, and upon dying they will be sent to the 'Normal' softcore mode and they will no longer be part of the Hardcore ladder. This is a bit different to games like Path of Exile and Diablo, as the character will remain in the current cycle instead of being moved to the Eternal realm.

Last Epoch Challenges

Last Epoch has 2 challenge modes, which can allow you to have a unique experience in the game:

• Solo Account Found: This challenge will prevent you from interacting with other players in the world, only allowing you to share your items and crafting materials between your own characters.

• Solo Character Found: This challenge goes a bit further than the last one, with your character being unable to share their stash with any of your other characters. If you are looking for a fresh start for your next character, this is the challenge mode for you.
