Last Epoch Mastery Tier List: S-Tier

The four masteries in S-tier currently boast the most powerful builds in Last Epoch. Dominating important keys in the game like Monoliths, speed clearing, and leveling pace,  these masteries excel against bosses with remarkable versatility for the endgame.

S-Tier Masteries
Necromancer (Acolyte) Lost Epoch Necromancer Icon The Necromancer shines with minion builds that amplify powerful summons like the Skeletal Mage. Capable of becoming a one-person army via the undead.
Lich (Acolyte) Last Epoch Lich Icon Trading health for immense power, the Lich mastery uses vitality wards and health stealing to balance its high-risk, high-reward play. The unique Reaper Form provides a backup health bar upon death for renewed resilience.
Runemaster (Mage) Last Epoch Runemaster Icon Runemaster boasts hard-hitting caster builds using runes for offensive and defensive buffs. This mastery brings versatile magic damage potential.
Druid (Primalist) Last Epoch Druid Mastery Icon The Druid exhibits fluid versatility via its trio of shapeshifting forms: Swarmblade, Sprigga, and Werebear. Passives enhance transformations while providing regeneration and thorn retaliation.

Last Epoch Mastery Tier List: A-Tier

The four A-tier masteries demonstrate more limited specialization compared to S-tier in Last Epoch. However, they remain competitive choices, occasionally matching top tier counterparts in selected scenarios.

A-Tier Masteries
Sorcerer (Mage) Lost Epoch Sorcerer Icon The Sorcerer mastery accentuates devastating elemental damage from afar, with crowd control tools like Black Hole.
Bladedancer (Rogue) Lost Epoch Bladedancer Icon Bladedancer can summon shades to augment burst damage in close quarters. But survival can be an issue for its glass cannon nature.
Paladin (Sentinel) Last Epoch Paladin Icon Bringing supportive healing and holy fire offense, the Paladin mastery provides a balance of durability and damage.
Marksman (Rogue) Last Epoch Marksman Icon Marksman shines at range with trick arrows and lightning attacks.

Last Epoch Mastery Tier List: B-Tier

The three masteries in B-Tier often find themselves overtaken by others in combat, with the potential for competitive builds but lackluster optimization.

B-Tier Masteries
Void Knight (Sentinel) Last Epoch Void Knight Icon Void magic supplements the Void Knight's melee strikes, like the hard-hitting multi-echoes from Abyssal Echoes. But keeping enemies inside the small ranges creates challenges.
Forgeguard (Sentinel) Last Epoch Forge Guard Icon The Forgeguard bolsters defenses with armor and shield buffs alongside melee damage. Yet it lacks the offense or support capabilities of its Sentinel match.
Beastmaster (Primalist) Lost Epoch Beastmaster Icon Beastmaster is good alone, but it will become less effective in the late game compared to Druid or Necromancer.

Last Epoch Mastery Tier List: C-Tier

The two C-Tier picks in Last Epoch currently face significant combat deficiencies compared to other alternatives, requiring future adjustments to better contest other masteries.

C-Tier Masteries
Shaman (Primalist) Shaman Icon Last Epoch The Shaman mastery, focused on spell totems and elemental magic, struggles with totem scaling in the endgame and has survival issues without team support.
Spellblade (Mage) Last Epoch Spellblade Icon Combining swordsmanship and magic in Spellblade may seem attractive, but the lack of synergy between melee and caster passives makes it underperform against specialized builds.
