Minecraft Netherite Armor: How to Craft (1.20)

Netherite armor is the ultimate protection in Minecraft, offering unmatched durability and defense. Crafting a full set of netherite gear is no easy task though, especially with the changes coming in the 1.20 update. What You Need to Make Netherite Armor

Before you can craft netherite armor in Minecraft, you'll need to gather these key materials:

• 4 Netherite Ingots
• 1 Diamond Helmet, Chestplate, Leggings, and Boots
• 1 Smithing Table

In Minecraft 1.20 and later versions, you'll also need:

• 4 Netherite Upgrade Smithing Templates (found in Bastion chests)

Netherite ingots are made by combining 4 gold ingots and 4 netherite scraps. To get netherite scraps, mine ancient debris in the Nether and smelt it in a furnace. Ancient debris spawns most often at Y-level 15.

Crafting Netherite Armor (Version 1.19 and Earlier)

Once you have a full set of diamond armor and some netherite ingots, crafting netherite gear in Minecraft 1.19 and earlier versions is simple:

1. Place a piece of diamond armor and 1 netherite ingot on a smithing table
2. The diamond gear will be upgraded to netherite
3. Repeat for each armor piece (helmet, chest plate, leggings, boots)

That's it! With 4 netherite ingots and a set of diamond armor, you'll have a full netherite gear set.

How to Make Netherite Armor in Minecraft 1.20

The method to craft netherite armor in Minecraft is changing in version 1.20. 

1. Find a Bastion remnant in the Nether and loot the chests
2. Look for Netherite Upgrade Smithing Templates (100% chance in treasure chests, 10% in other Bastion chests)
3. Place the smithing template in the far left slot of a smithing table
4. Put a piece of diamond armor in the middle slot
5. Add a netherite ingot to the far right slot
6. The diamond gear will upgrade to netherite
7. Repeat this process for the full armor set

After Minecraft 1.20, you'll need a smithing template to upgrade the diamond to netherite, making the process a bit longer. 

Other Ways to Get Netherite Armor

Crafting isn't the only way to get netherite armor in Minecraft. You can also:

• Trade with weaponsmith villagers (if they sell netherite gear)
• Find it in ancient city chests
• Loot it from other players in multiplayer worlds

However, crafting netherite armor is the most reliable method. With some mining, smelting, and smithing tablework, you can create the best armor in Minecraft. Netherite is worth the effort for its power and protectiveness.
