This week is important for passionate gamers, as on May 30, 2024, Sony held its latest State of Play, sharing a closer look at various upcoming titles. The event also showed the first gameplay trailer for Capcom's brand-new Monster Hunter Wilds. It is the latest creature-looting RPG title from the renowned Japanese gaming developer.

The new footage gave players a better idea of what to expect from the latest Monster Hunter game and made them even more eager for its release. It has previously been announced by Capcom that the title would be launching sometime in 2025, which means that players won't have to wait long until they get their hands on the newest addition to the Monster Hunter franchise.

Diving into the Trailer

Monster Hunter Wilds Gameplay Now Revealed

The gameplay trailer is three minutes long, and it reveals some of the new monsters, including a giant named Doshaguma, which looks like a mixture of a lion, a furry dog, and the rancor from the Star Wars universe. Viewers also got to meet Chatacabra, a sort of armored frog.

Besides the mythical wildlife, the trailer also revealed that those who saved data from the previous two Monster Hunter installments will get free Palico skins and weapons. But that is not all, as a new feature will also allow players to call for help from another player. This will be done by firing a special signal flare.

All of the gameplay took place in the Windward Plains, which, as the name implies, consists of endless deserts and rocky terrain. Capcom says this is just one of the available biomes, as the game is set to feature several more. Players can also utilize a secondary weapon when fighting these whimsical creatures of the New World.
