Poppy Playtime: Why Does Poppy Hate the Prototype?

In every chapter of Poppy Playtime, we do our best to overcome all the obstacles the Prototype sets in order to stop him. Our biggest ally is Poppy who wants to kill him at all cost. We still don't know much about those characters, let alone their interactions. However, based on what we have witnessed so far, especially in Chapter 3, we got the following information.

The Prototype Trapped Poppy 

One very obvious reason is the fact that the Prototype captured Poppy in a box for years. She was left there, fully conscious and unable to move for such a long time. It is no wonder that she would resent him.

However, her imprisonment raises many questions. For example, how did she survive for all these years without any food? Unlike other toys, Poppy had her digestive system removed so she could live forever without eating anything.

Another important question is why the Prototype closed her in a box instead of simply killing her like the rest of the toys that opposed him. We have yet to find out what influenced the Prototype to make this decision. There is certainly some kind of connection between the two characters that we still don't know about.

The Prototype's Initiation of the Hour of Joy

In the game, Poppy tells us that the main reason she wants to kill the Prototype is because of the "senseless slaughter" he committed during the Hour of Joy. She is angry at him for killing so many innocent people and toys who were not on his side. Poppy takes on the role of a hero in the story because of her devotion to taking revenge on 1006. However, we still do not know if that is truly the case.

Like the Prototype, Poppy has also undergone numerous terrible experiments. She was placed in a doll that is basically unable to do anything on her own. Why is the Prototype so angry at the scientist for everything he has been through, but Poppy wants to avenge them? 

The only logical answer to that would be that Poppy lost someone special during the Hour of Joy. We do not know this for sure, but based on the scarce information that we have so far, this seems to be the best theory for her resentment towards him.

The relationship between Poppy and the Prototype will definitely influence the turn of events in the game even more in the future. Hopefully, Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 will reveal more about those two characters and their connection.
