Ubisoft recently announced the next major update for their popular tactical shooter Rainbow Six Siege. Dubbed "Operation Deadly Omen", this new season is set to kick off Year 9 of Siege. While details remain scarce ahead of the full reveal, here's a rundown of everything we know so far.

R6 Siege Operation Deadly Omen Official Reveal and Release Date

Ubisoft will fully unveil Operation Deadly Omen during the Six Invitational 2024 tournament finals on February 24th. They are expected to outline the new season's roadmap, including upcoming operators, maps, and quality-of-life changes.

Though an exact release date hasn't been confirmed, Operation Deadly Omen will likely launch in the second week of March. Siege's competitive season begins on March 11th, so the update should drop shortly before then.

New Attacker Operator

The teaser trailer shows an explosive hole in a barricaded wall, hinting at a possible new attacker with breaching capabilities. As Portuguese defender Tubarão joined the roster last season, an attacking operator seems probable for Operation Deadly Omen as well.

Map Reworks

No new maps have been teased yet, but we may see reworks of existing maps. Ubisoft has tweaked the competitive map pool throughout Year 8 to improve balance and playability. Additional map buffs and reworks could be coming in Operation Deadly Omen too.
