Version 1.3 of Reverse: 1999 brings us a number of new characters and the one that is appearing in the First Phase of the Version 1.3 banners is Kaalaa Baunaa, or also known as Black Dwarf. Black Dwarf joins the Mineral character roster and is the newest DPS in Reverse: 1999.

Who is Black Dwarf

Kaalaa Baunaa is a 6-star character of the Mineral Afflatus. She focuses on stacking up [Planets] to give herself various buffs from [Penetration] to [Leech Rate] and deal even more damage.

Black Dwarf gives players the ability to decide how to stack her [Planets] allowing for great diversity in her playstyle.

However, to make the most of her you should first build her right, and we’re here to help you get the best build for her!

Black Dwarf Skills and Insight

As already mentioned Kaalaa Baunaa uses her skills and ultimate to stack up [Planets] to buff herself and increase her potential and survivability. Here is the full breakdown of her skills and insights.

SINGULAR PERFECTION

1-target attack. Removes all [Planets]. Deals 600% Mental DMG. Gains 2 stacks of [Full-Moon]. [Full-Moon]: +6% skill power for each stack. [Planet]s are capped at 3.

ENCHANTED STRIKE

1-target attack. Deals 180%/270%/450% Mental DMG. Upon casting, gain 1 stack of [Saturn]. [Saturn]: +6% Penetration Rate for each stack. [Planet]s are capped at 3.

MYTHICAL METEORS

Mass attack. Deals 135%/200%/335% Mental DMG to 2 enemies. Upon casting, gain 1 stack of [Mars]. [Mars]: +6% Leech Rate for each stack. [Planet]s are capped at 3.

Insight 1

When a [Planet] is removed, gain 1 stack of [Saturn Divination], [Mars Divination] or [Full-Moon Divination] depending on the type. [Saturn Divination]: +12% Penetration Rate (effect stacks, all stacks get consumed after attacking). [Mars Divination]: +12% Leech Rate (effect stacks, all stacks get consumed after attacking). [Full-Moon Divination]: +12% Skill power (effect stacks, all stacks get consumed after attacking).

Critical Rate +10% when the caster enters battle.

After the caster uses their Ultimate, gains 1 effect based on the most removed [Planet]. If [Saturn] is the most removed [Planet], immediately casts [Enchanted Strike] at the rank corresponding to the amount of [Saturn]s removed. If [Mars] is the most removed [Planet], immediately casts [Mythical Meteors] at the rank corresponding to the amount of [Mars]s removed. If [Full-Moon] is the most removed [Planet], immediately gains [Spell Incantationt II] for 1/2 rounds corresponding to the amount of [Full-Moon]s removed.

For Resonance for Kaalaa Baunaa we recommend going with a full ATK build to fully boost her damage and allow you to clear various of the hard content that the game has to offer.

Keep in mind that all of these teams are simply suggestions and if you do not have the characters above you can always swap them for other supports!

Summary

All in all Black Dwarf is an interesting addition to the Reverse: 1999 roster and is going to be a good DPS for characters who lack a Mineral damage dealer.

Although there are some characters that may top Black Dwarf in terms of damage output, she is the best Mineral 6-star DPS character that we have in the game as of now, so if you are on the lookout for Mineral DPS characters then Black Dwarf is sure to fill that spot.
