It's been a few weeks since the full release of the latest addition to the multiplayer FPS genre, THE FINALS, and the developers are continuing their ongoing support for the game. While the game has not received any major updates in a while now, it's nice to know that a lot of quality-of-life changes are being constantly developed, even between the major patches. Embark Studios has released yet another smaller update, which aims to make the experience progression in the game a lot more manageable and less grindy, while also making a few changes to how the VoIP system works. Here is everything you need to know about THE FINALS patch 1.7.0.

THE FINALS 1.7.0 Patch Notes
The latest update to THE FINALS, patch 1.7.0, does not bring any significant changes to the game, but it does improve on a lot of the community and progression systems. The highlight of the patch is definitely the adjustments to experience, both to Contracts and different interactions within matches. These changes will help players progress faster through the game, allowing them to earn experience at a much faster pace. The other change of note is regarding the VoIP options, with voice communication now being enabled by default. Here is the full list of patch notes for the 1.7.0 update of THE FINALS:
Content And Bug Fixes
Game Show Events
- Disabled the ‘Dead Go Boom’ game show event
We feel this event punishes melee users too much at present, so we’re disabling it for now. We’re hoping to return it to the game, after a re-work, at some point in the future
UI
- Added a ‘play again’ button to the end-of-round sequence, allowing players in a party to quickly get into the next match
VoIP
- Set VoIP to be enabled by default on PC, with Push To Talk set as the default input (existing players)
- Set VoIP to be enabled by default on console, with Voice Activated set as the default input (existing players)
We want to encourage more teamplay in matches, and enabling VoIP for all players is part of that effort. Players can disable VoIP via settings. We previously made this change in update 1.5 for new players and saw positive results!
