V Rising 1.0 offers two brand new weapon types that players can use so we will be reviewing all of the different weapons you can play with to ensure your victory. With V Rising now leaving Early Access, players are set to expect a lot more polish, fine-tuning, and possibly updates coming in the near future as the developers slowly start building up this open-world survival jewel.

Tier List Explanation
This tier list will examine all of the available weapon types in V Rising 1.0 into 4 separate tiers, ordering them from worst to best.
- C-Tier: Although they can be useful, you are better off with different weapons.
- B-Tier: Viable and reliable in most situations, you can manage rather decently.
- A-Tier: Great options but lacking just slightly either in terms of damage or utility.
- S-Tier: The best weapon types you can use to ensure you are always victorious.
NOTE: Although this tier list strives to be as objective as possible in terms of viability, you should not limit yourself to strictly adhere to this list, but rather experiment and see which weapon feels fun to play with.
V Rising 1.0: C-Tier Weapon Types
Unfortunately, Crossbows are simply underperforming in terms of damage. You are better off utilizing a different ranged weapon.
PROS:
- Snapshot ability that can interrupt spells and attacks.
CONS:
- Slow fire rate and reload.
- Insufficient damage and AoE.
- Terrible for both PvP and PvE.
The Reaper shares the same issues as the Crossbow as its slow attacks can often leave you rather disappointed. Although the damage can make up for it, you are better off using much stronger weapons.
PROS:
- Heavy damage.
CONS:
- Slow attack.

V Rising 1.0: B-Tier Weapon Types
Spears have a love-it-or-hate-it mentality in the player base. Although you can get some amazing results with this weapon type, you will have to sacrifice mobility.
PROS:
- Great single-target damage.
- Built-in stun when using A Thousand Spears
- Great for 1v1 PvP
CONS:
- Awful AoE damage.
- Requires backup when facing multiple enemies.
Another slow but very dangerous weapon, the Mace offers some mobility and utility as well.
PROS:
- Added mobility when using Crushing Blow.
- High damage and reliable stun for PvP.
CONS:
- Slow attacks and difficult-to-land damage ability.
- Requires healing in prolonged fights.
- Unsatisfactory AoE damage.
The Longbow was added in Update 1.0, giving players the option to strike enemies from afar whilst also having some decent AoE damage.
PROS:
- High damage and great distance
- Great AoE ability
- New Focus mechanic that enhances abilities
CONS:
- Somewhat slow
- Requires good accuracy to maintain high DPS.

V Rising 1.0: A-Tier Weapon Types
Axes are an amazing tool for not only dishing a lot of damage in quick succession but also allowing you to interrupt enemies so you can weave in more attacks or spells.
PROS:
- Fast attack rate and satisfying input
- Built-in gap closer and stun
CONS:
- Lower damage to make up for speed.
- Short stun duration.
The sword offers a balanced experience between damage, utility, AoE and for PvP and PvE encounters.
PROS:
- Shockwave ability that offers crowd control and mobility.
- Sufficient AoE and single target damage.
CONS:
- No heavy hitting abilities.
- Relies on landing Shockwave to maximize damage.
What makes the Greatsword so high on the list is the Death from Above ability. Not only does the weapon have great damage but you can also make use of its mobility in certain fights.
PROS:
- Death from Above ability that makes you untargetable for a short period of time.
- Massive single target and AoE damage for PvE.
CONS:
- Slower swing attack.
- Not very efficient in PvP.
The second weapon that was added to V Rising 1.0. This medium-ranged whip can offer players mobility, AoE, and some crowd control as well.
PROS:
- Aeriel Whip Twirl offers a great mix of mobility, damage, and crowd control.
- Great single-target damage that allows you to keep your distance.
CONS:
- Damage is not as high.
- Not ideal for multi-targeted encounters.

V Rising 1.0: S-Tier Weapon Types
The pistols offer the highest amount of damage a ranged weapon can currently in V Rising 1.0. Although they have a shorter range, you should not underestimate their potency.
PROS:
- Amazing damage.
- Great single-target and AoE damage.
- Fast fire rate.
- Built-in mobility to keep your distance.
CONS:
- Not that amazing in PvE.
These bad boys pack a punch and have amazing utility and crowd control, ultimately making them the best melee weapon in the game.
PROS:
- High damage.
- Crippling slow and tons of mobility.
- Camouflage ability that makes you nearly invisible.
- Fantastic attack speed.
CONS:
- Lower damage to make up for high-speed attacks.
