The 3 tiers used to divide the armor sets are as follows:

This list ranks all armor sets from worst to best for V Rising, following the order with B-Tier being, in this case, the weakest and S-Tier being the strongest.
V Rising: B-Tier Armor Sets
Although Boneguard is the simplest armor you can obtain in V Rising, it is definitely a good start for every beginner. One of the best things about it is the fact that you can open the inventory crafting menu and craft one of those anytime you want. You never know when you're going to need an emergency armor set!
- Gear Level: 1
- Max Health: +57 (total)
The Plated Boneguard is the natural update of the Boneguard armor set, and it can be obtained via the Simple Workbench you'll build at your castle. Similar to the Plated Boneguard, the Nightstalker armor set can be obtained from the Simple Workbench by default. However, it requires much better materials. The further you move into the game, the faster you'll get to the good armor sets! The Hollowfang is a solid armor, and it can help you get through some pretty hard hits without dying. However, in order to get this, you'll need to put in a bit more effort. You'll have to first defeat the boss Beatrice the Tailor in Dunley Farmlands, then build a Tailoring Bench, and finally make the armor set by using a mix of Cotton, Yarn, Leather, and Wool Thread.

If you want to upgrade your armor set to Merciless Hollowfang, you'll have to build a Study and use Scrolls to unlock the recipes required for this one. The Dawnthorn armor set has a very unique design, and the recipe for it is not very easy to get. V Rising: S-Tier Armor Sets
One of the best things about the Twilight armor set is that it makes you immune to sunlight if you wear all four pieces simultaneously. This is an extremely powerful, top-tier armor. However, it is only accessible via console commands, and unless your server allows it, there's no way to get it.
- Gear Level: 7
- Max Health: +252 (total)
Bloodmoon is hands-down the best armor set in V Rising. It can be created by feeding the Athenaeum enough Schematics to get random recipes, or just by killing high-level enemies and getting lucky. All four pieces of the Bloodmoon armor set can be crafted at the Tailoring Bench. In order to make it, you'll need to sacrifice the Dawnthorn armor set and add Imperial Thread, Silk, and Primal Blood Essence, which is extremely rare.
