The newest system that was added to World of Warcraft Dragonflight was the new Follower Dungeons that allow for players to try out Dragonflight dungeons and also see if they would like to get better at another role. Seeds of Renewal has brought a lot of amazing changes to retail overall.

This is a great idea as it allows newer players to easily learn basic dungeon mechanics, practice a different class, or just take the time to appreciate the art and layout of dungeons in general without having to worry they are dragging down their party.

You can choose to be either a healer, damage dealer, or tank within the dungeon as NPC followers help fill in the gaps in your party. Some players have also noticed that this can be a great way of leveling up alts and if Blizzard also further expands Follower Dungeons to allow legacy content, then this could become the main way of gearing up and leveling alts.

It seems that the devs did not adjust the amount of XP accordingly so they were quick to deploy a hotfix

With a hotfix that went out to all realms at 2:35 p.m. PST (about 10 minutes ago), we’ve greatly increased the amount of XP you’ll get alongside followers.

Throughout the PTR, your XP was reduced by 20% per follower, so if you ran a dungeon with two friends and two followers with you, XP was reduced by 40%. If you went in solo with four followers, XP was reduced by 80%.

Now in the live game, each follower causes a 5% XP reduction. Your party of three players and two followers should see a total of 10% reduced XP, and solo players with four followers receive a 20% reduction.

This is a great change to World of Warcraft for players wanting to test out the new system by also getting the opportunity to level up new characters. Hopefully, the feedback from the players will help Blizzard Entertainment further tweak and adjust the War Within expansion as it promises to introduce a new solo content system called Delves
