What are Follower Dungeons in World of Warcraft Dragonflight?

The newest upcoming patch to WoW Dragonflight will be called Seeds of Renewal. With this patch, among all other cool changes come the Follower Dungeons to the Dragon Isles.

This brand-new feature will allow players to experience the normal eight Dragonflight dungeons, and your party will scale from 1 to 4 players, with NPCs filling the remaining slots.

That means you can go through the dungeons on your own without the anxiety of having an impatient group or pair up with friends to learn the mechanics of the current 8 dungeons in the Dragon Isles.

As per the original blog post by Blizzard Entertainment, the Follower Dungeons will be a part of the Seeds of Renewal 10.2.5 for World of Warcraft Dragonflight, so it looks like the developers are looking into making the Dragon Isles the entry zone for non-WoW players who wish to pick up the game as the devs are further looking into expanding the universe promising at least 3 more expansions.

Tank, heal, and DPS alongside follower NPC companions that join you on your Dungeon adventures. They will be available in all eight Normal Dragonflight Dungeons and can scale from 1–4 players. These companions will allow players to learn about Dragonflight dungeons at their own pace and provide the freedom to experiment and customize their Party makeup.

Certainly a good change in philosophy as the game has been needing some additional touches for the newcomers so they learn more about the intricacies of World of Warcraft, including doing dungeons.

Community Reactions

The players have been embracing these new changes very fondly, with a lot of them being glad that Blizzard is giving new players more tools and ways to become better at the game, instead of experiencing a frustrated tank that is very eager to pull every mob at once.

Certainly a very welcome change for even veteran players who wish to learn a different role, like tanking, healing, or dealing DPS, this will be a very effective testing ground for everyone included.
