WoW: The War Within Beta, Release Dates, and More

With the long-awaited expansion for World of Warcraft coming later this year, many players are excited to hear that Blizzard announced The War Within beta is coming sooner than expected.

A lot is riding on the line as the community has a lot of expectations given the return of Chris Metzen as the Creative Director for the World of Warcraft team. Hopefully, this new direction will guide the franchise to its roots of glory being held in high regard as the best MMORPG to ever hit the scene. 

Having that in mind, we will go over everything you should know about The War Within beta release so you can dip your toes in one of the most anticipated expansions for World of Warcraft. 

WoW The War Within Beta Release Date

The War Within beta test will begin on June 5, 2024! Players who have purchased or who have upgraded to the Epic Edition of The War Within will also gain access to the beta and gain a minimum three-day early access to the expansion.

Players will have access to brand new systems such as the Hero Talents, the complete leveling experience in the new zones, among with new dungeons, the highly-anticipated PvE delves content, Warbands to show off your army of alts, and the new playable Earthen race are all available in the beta. It seems that raid testing will come at a later time though.

Although the official release date is still not announced, we have confirmation from Blizzard that we can expect The War Within expansion to drop in late 2024. 

How to Launch The War Within Beta

Here are all of the steps you need to follow to boot up The War Within beta:

• Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date.
• Run the Battle.net® desktop app—it may need to update itself if you haven't run it recently.
• Once Battle.net is installed and updated, select World of Warcraft from the list of games.
• In the Game Version drop-down menu above the Play button, choose The War Within (listed under In Development) option, then click Install.
• Allow installation to complete, click Play, and select any available Test Servers.
• Create a new test character or use the character copy to import your existing Dragonflight character.
• Enter the game and test the available content.

Please keep in mind that you should receive an email from Blizzard to test out the beta, however, these invites will be sent out during the entire beta test period so there is a chance you might not get yours right away.
