With the Last Epoch server issues finally being resolved, players can finally play together with their friends without having to wait for hours to transition into a new zone. While the game is largely focused on being a single-player experience, after years of player feedback, Eleventh Hour Games did decide to add co-op features to their debut title. As with all new additions in Last Epoch, however, this came with a twist.
Last Epoch has a couple of different systems that are not staples in the genre and might confuse some players. Gifting items to your friends is definitely one of them, and in this article, we are going to provide a step-by-step guide on how you can do just that.

Last Epoch Resonance Explained
Resonances in Last Epoch are currency items that you'll need in order to gift equipment to another player. The only way you can earn these items is by playing together with that person. Resonances will drop after a sufficient number of enemies have been killed while you are in a party with another player, and only monsters that grant experience will progress this. Once a Resonance drops, it will be tied to that specific player, and you will not be able to use it to gift items to another friend. This progress is also saved between sessions, so don't worry about losing any progress towards your next Resonance drop.
There are two types of Resonances that can drop: a Golden and an Obsidian version. The Golden version is a lot easier to get, while the Obsidian Resonance will take you a bit longer to farm. Here is everything you need to know about the two types of Resonance in Last Epoch:
- Golden Resonance: Can be used to gift Normal, Magic, Rare, Set, Unique items with no Legendary Potential, and Idols.
- Obsidian Resonance: Can be used to gift Exalted Items, Unique items with Legendary Potential, and Legendary Items.

How to Gift Items in Last Epoch
Once a Resonance drops for your character, you will finally be able to gift an item to the friend you have been playing with. In order to do this, open up your Inventory, and between the 'Sort Items' button and your gold, you will find the 'Gifting' Menu. By opening this menu, you will be able to select the player you have grinded together with and send them the item. You will also be able to see the 'Gift Inventory' section, where any items you receive will be stored.
And that is how you can gift items to your friends in Last Epoch. While all of these steps might seem a bit convoluted, they are in place to reduce the prevalence of real-money shops that tend to emerge whenever a new ARPG becomes popular.
