The new clip showcases the first major wave of monsters announced for Monster Hunter: Wilds.

The Dalthydon, a herbivorous wyvern with a seasonal migration pattern, and Ceratonoth, which travel in herds so that the males may guard the group from sandstorms with their lightning rod-like dorsal horns, are new additions to the series.

There are other large creatures, such as the fanged Doshaguma and the Chatacabra, which have a massive tongue and lots of saliva. Previously, Capcom debuted Rathalos, one of the franchise's most reoccurring monsters.

Another new feature is a brand new mount called the Seikret, which will be available to all players. You’ll be able to use certain items and even your slinger while on the move, allowing you to recover your health, sharpen your weapon, or even gather materials, all from the safety of your Seikret.

In addition to acting as a rideable mount, the Seikret enables hunters to access and switch to a secondary weapon without returning to base! Use this brand-new ability to adapt quickly to the ever-changing hunts in Monster Hunter Wilds.

Monster Hunter: Wilds Weapon Updates

Monster Hunter veterans are captivated by the idea of carrying two weapons on a mission. Hunters have never been able to bring more than one weapon to a task, so if you needed a new weapon mid-mission, you'd have to return to the nearest base camp and alter your entire build and loadout.

The 14 iconic weapon types make their return in Monster Hunter Wilds. Here's a breakdown of every weapon type:

  • Great Sword
  • Long Sword
  • Sword & Shield
  • Dual Blades
  • Hammer
  • Hunting Horn
  • Lance
  • Gunlance
  • Switch Axe
  • Charge Blade
  • Insect Glaive
  • Light Bowgun
  • Heavy Bowgun
  • Bow

While series veterans will feel right at home, there are lots of new actions for each weapon type that will elevate your hunt to the next level.

In Focus Mode, hunters will have more control over how they protect, aim, and attack, allowing them to target a monster's weak spots for maximum damage. Focus Mode makes it easier to alter your distance from the monster and aim your attacks, making Monster Hunter's unique hunting action more accessible to a wider range of players.
