Theodore was 7 years old and was one of the orphans who stayed in Home Sweet Home. He constantly talked about his imaginary friend who lived underneath his bed. As it turns out, that imaginary friend was actually the Prototype, who snuck out and hid in Theodore's room.

One day, the Prototype persuaded young Theodore to open the maintenance door with the intention of letting all the orphans escape the playcare. To do that, Theodore had to use a GrabBack, but because he didn't really understand how it operates, he ended up getting electrocuted by the green GrabPack hand. At the time of the incident, an employee named Thomas Clarke reported seeing Theodore's imaginary friend at the scene with him.

Due to this and his constant acts of mischief, Theodore's participation in the Bigger Body Initiative was moved to an earlier date. Theodore was chosen as the orphan who would inherit CatNap's body and became experiment number 1188.

His role as CatNap was to guard Home Sweet Home and prevent any orphans from escaping.

When CatNap was being created, scientists inserted the red gas into him. This gas was non-lethal yet highly potent, and it was used by scientists to easily abduct children from Playcare and conduct various experiments on them.

After CatNap came to life, some of Theodore's memories remained, specifically those of the Prototype being his friend. This led to CatNap obsessing over the Prototype and seeing him as his ultimate savior. Although it is known that the Prototype had no interest in CatNap, that didn't stop the cat from practicing his own cult activities, worshiping the Prototype as a god.

CatNap was famously a part of the Smiling Critters, a group of cute animals that were so popular they became the main mascots of Playtime Co. One special characteristic of the Smiling Critters was that each member had their own unique scent. However, it turned out that CatNap's unique lavender scent was getting mixed with his red gas, resulting in every kid that came close to his toys experiencing violent nightmares.

CatNap's big body version was kept so he could continue with his usual responsibilities in Home Sweet Home.

As we explored Home Sweet Home in the latest sequence of Poppy Playtime, we encountered CatNap. He was performing his usual job of guarding the area and following the Prototype's orders.

However, at the end of the game, CatNap's tragic fate is ironically identical to what he experienced when he was a human. We hit CatNap with our GrabPack's green hand, which electrocutes him. Then, despite his obedience, we witnessed him being mercilessly killed by 1006, bringing the end of CatNap.
