In V Rising, you are going to need a castle so you can hide from the sun. You need better and stronger armor so those pitchforks don’t hurt. Servants need clothes, and weapons don’t craft themselves. It is all up to you.
If you want to expand your vampiric empire, collect the resources required to repair, build, and upgrade everything you own. Leather is one of the crafting materials you need to figure out how to make. If you are struggling to understand how you can get your hands on it, you have come to the right place.

How to Get Leather in V Rising
Your first step in getting some leather for your crafting needs is building a Tannery. You won’t be blessed with the knowledge of constructing a Tannery when you start playing V Rising. Hunt down Keely the Frost Archer to unlock the Tannery and start your leather production.
You will find Keely the Frost Archer in Farbane Woods. She spends her time in the Bandit Trapper Camp, northeast of the starting region. Keely is only level 20 so you shouldn’t have too much trouble taking her down. When you have defeated the frosty archer, the Tannery will be unlocked for construction.

Before you can build the Tannery, you will need to go hunting. You are going to need 160 animal hides and 8 planks. When you have all the resources you need, you can build the Tannery.
Now you have the facility ready, you can get started on collecting everything you require for the actual leather. You will need:
- 16 animal hides
- 1 oil
You should be a master at finding animal hides at this point and oil is made by putting any fish into the Blood Press. Now you have easy access to the creation of leather, you can get started in upgrading, building, and repairing as much as you want.

How to Get Thick Leather in V Rising
The good news is that there isn’t a big difference in the crafting of thick leather compared to normal leather. If you have already completed the steps above, you should already have the Tannery up and running. Any extra oil you have spare will come in handy.
The only thing you need to do differently is instead of searching for animal hides, you are now going to be hunting for thick hides. It will drop from sheep, cows, and dogs in Dunley Farmlands. As you can imagine, the thick leather can be used to craft better gear but it will be a little harder to find the necessary materials.
