This mode combines both the game’s TV mechanic and a lot of fighting, so it’s the perfect place to test out your characters.
In this guide, we’ll explain what Hollow Zero is, how to unlock it, and what rewards you can get from it.

What is Hollow Zero
Hollow Zero is one of the permanent game modes in Zenless Zone Zero. It is a roguelike-type mode that has you taking on various challenges to complete stages, get Resonia to make your team stronger, and eventually earn some nice rewards.
Hollow Zero is divided into several sections, with each section getting progressively harder and unlocking after you meet specific conditions.
Upon completing a stage in Hollow Zero, you are rewarded with various goodies, with the most important one being Investigation Points, which are used to increase your License level, which will be one of your main sources of rewards.
NOTE: Each stage offers unique first-clear rewards, so make sure to clear each stage at least once.

License Level
License Level is a unique level that can only be increased by completing stages in Hollow Zero. You increase this level by earning Investigation Points. Each License Level requires a set amount of Investigation points, and upon leveling up, you receive a reward. The unique thing here is that Investigations Points are capped per week, and you can increase this cap by increasing your Inter-Knot Lv.
When you first start, your cap will be 5,000 Investigation Points per week.
NOTE: The cap for Investigation Points increases the following week after increasing your Inter-Knot Lv. So even if you go hard and reach Inter-Knot Lv. 30 in your first few days, you will still be capped at 5000 Investigation Points for the first week. The Hollow Zero week resets each Monday, so make sure to get to the highest Inter-Knot Lv. before then.
Resonia
Resonia are the buffs that you will encounter in Hollow Zero. These range from basic stat increases to specific element increases, new companions, and more. Resonia allows you to create unique builds to help you clear stages in Hollow Zero.

How to Unlock Hollow Zero
Unfortunately, Hollow Zero is not available the minute you start Zenless Zone Zero; you have to play a bit before you can unlock this mode.
To unlock Hollow Zero, you must first clear Chapter 1 - Intermission, which will become available after you clear the Cat's Lost and Found quest.
After clearing Chapter 1 - Intermission, you will get a quest that will lead you to Scott Outpost, where you will unlock Hollow Zero.
Not all stages of the mode will be available once you first unlock it, and you must play through the story even more to unlock more features regarding Hollow Zero.
Hollow Zero Rewards
Hollow Zero rewards its players in different ways. Those include:
- License Level
- First-clear rewards
- Collection Completion
- Bounty Commissions
As we’ve already explained, the License Level is a unique leveling system in Hollow Zero that rewards you with different things when you level up.
In addition to this level, you can also get rewards by clearing stages for the first time and subsequent times, and another way to get rewards is by filling out your Hollow Zero collection.
Bounty Commissions, on the other hand, are weekly missions that you receive, which have you completing various tasks in Hollow Zero. Upon completing a mission, you will get rewards and even Z-Merits, which you can exchange for even more rewards.
Each of the means mentioned above rewards you with polychromes, which you can use to summon your favorite characters.
