Nightingale: Will There be a PS5 Release?

Nightingale, the gaslamp fantasy survival game from Inflexion Games, launched into early access on February 20th, 2024. However, the initial release is only confirmed for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. This has many PlayStation fans wondering - will Nightingale come to PS5 eventually? 

What the Developers Have Said About Nightingale PS5 Release

In the game's official FAQ page, Inflexion writes "Nightingale is currently PC only." This indicates that while a PS5 version isn't available yet, it could still happen down the line.

Many games start as PC exclusives in early access before expanding to consoles later on. If Nightingale eventually adds PS5 support, cross-platform features could come later. But Inflexion hasn't announced any official plans yet. 

What Could a Nightingale PS5 Release Date Look Like?

While a PS5 version isn't guaranteed, many survival crafting games do migrate from PC to consoles over time. If Nightingale follows suit, when could it happen?

There are a few possibilities:

• During Early Access - Many games launch console ports while still in early access on PC. This allows them to garner interest from a wider audience earlier.
• At Full Launch - Other titles wait until their 1.0 PC launch before releasing on consoles. This gives time to further polish the game first.
• Post-Launch - Some games come to new platforms months or years after the official launch to spur renewed interest.

The timing will depend on Inflexion's development roadmap and priorities. But a late 2024 or 2025 PS5 release could be feasible if console plans materialize. Keep in mind, this is purely speculation as a PS5 port is not set in stone. 

For now, fans eager to play Nightingale will need a gaming PC. But down the road, the survival crafting adventure could thrive on PlayStation if Inflexion deems a PS5 release worthy. We'll have to wait patiently for official word from the developers on any console ports.
